Alternative energy sources for refugees

On 14 of march 2024 ad in response to increased environmental degradation surrounding refugee camps, a demonstration of cooking stove uses less firewood took place at Livelihood Space, Kiryandongo Refugee settlement. Initiator Lilias Sunday showed the newcomers how to construct an efficient energy stove and how to use a fireless cook basket. The refugees rely heavily on wood as main sources of energy in Kiryandongo which leaves remarkable impacts on the surrounding environment of the settlement. Through the Green-Will concept, CEE supports the local environment through planting trees that are regarded as a sign of food-forest, shadow, power and connectedness.

Following the happy conclusion of the 2022 Women's Garden and Food Forest for Displaced People, wherein 20 women from the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement engaged in sustainable farming as a means of achieving self-sufficiency and food security, we're thrilled to announce the establishing of our Livelihood Center in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement! 🎉🏡
